The Hozoni Hotel
As part of the Experiential Design Studio, a collaboration between graphic design and interior design, we conceptualized, branded, and built a fictional hotel located in Sedona, AZ. This project was designed for the curious traveler—someone seeking a unique experience beyond the conventional hotel environment.
Problem Statement
We were challenged to think beyond the ordinary by asking, “What if?” This approach encouraged us to explore unexpected combinations that tell a compelling story and create immersive spaces with intentional emotions. Our guiding question became: What if a hotel was a love letter?
Solution:
The Hozoni Hotel was born from this concept. In collaboration with (name), we developed the idea of a “Mosaic of Rarity”—a collection of special, rare moments designed to inspire guests to pause, reflect, and immerse themselves in meaningful experiences.

The word 'Hozoni' is a Navajo term that translates to 'beauty.' We chose this name for our hotel with the intention of weaving Navajo culture, which has a deep connection to the land surrounding Sedona, into the story of our space.

Capturing the sincerity of a love letter, which is at the heart of our hotel, we envisioned a letter wall installation at the entrance. As guests walk through the doors, it sets the tone, immediately sparking a smile and a sense of adventure, enhancing their overall experience.

We believe it’s crucial to create memorable experiences within our hotel, making it more than just a place to rest, but a destination where guests want to spend their time. With that in mind, we decided to feature an art gallery at the front of the hotel. This space invites travelers to Sedona to explore, and we hope it encourages them to return and stay at The Hozoni.
